Homework...Enriching Your Mind

As you know we are studying the Canterbury Tales both in and outside of the classroom. For your homework I want you (and your parents if they want) to check out some of these interactive websites I have posted for you to look into. Each of these sites has SOMETHING to do with the Canterbury Tales which can help you all with your unit project (hint hint). After surfing through the three sites choose one and write a few sentences on what you have learned from that site and post it!

Geoffry Chaucer: This website gives a biography of the great Geoffry Chaucer. You can click on the links to few a time line of Chaucer's and works and other links dealing with Chaucer's life.

Medieval Times: Here you can explore hundreds and hundreds of texts from the 14th century. Take a look at one's such as: The Black Death and Warfare. Think about this...When Chaucer was writing what was the world like? Is it influenced his writing?

Rapping "The Canterbury Tales": This is a YouTube video that is both educational and entertaining. Here you will be able to hear some of The Canterbury Tales in Middle English thanks to Dr. Enelow.

Hello My Bright Young Minds...

Hello Parents & Students! My name is Christina Young (Ms. Young) and I will be your English teacher this semester! I know all of you seniors are ready to graduate but this class is vital to your future (especially those headed towards higher education) and to get your diploma! My classroom will be integrating technology by using this blog. Students and parents can post on this blog and students can submit their assignments here as well. Parents: I look forward to teaching your brilliant offspring, your "baby's" have now grown up and my classroom will run as if your young adults were in college; and I believe that this is the best way in preparing them for what is to come.
Students: Welcome to my class! I hope you are ready for what I have to offer you this semester. Your grade is up to you, depending on how much work and effort you put into it is what you will get out of it!

Sincerely,
Ms.Young
